El Salvadoran political analyst Mariano Nuno Morales told El Universal that he “couldn’t imagine a better place” for the country’s next presidential election than the United States.
“I think that the election is going to be held in the United State, because of all the money and attention that the US is giving to the election,” Morales said in an interview with El Universal.
“In that sense, El Salvador will be the perfect place for the presidential election.
We will be able to control our own destiny, the economy, the media.”
Morales said the country has experienced “an unprecedented wave of migration” since President Otto Perez Molina was ousted from power in 2014, adding that it’s “very important for us” that the Salvadoran public understand the countrys challenges.
“The migration of the last few years has been very important for the political process in El Salvador,” Morales continued.
“The public is very aware of this.
They are very familiar with the social problems that the country faces.
We are a country that has a very high poverty rate, and we also have a lot of people in poverty, but we are not the only ones.
So, in this process, it is very important to be able communicate with the public.”
According to Morales, the current presidential election will be “the first time that a person of power is not from the United Kingdom, because Perez Molinas was elected from the same region of the United Kingdom, but not from our region.”
“And, I think, that will be very important,” he added.
“It’s very important that people know who is who, and to be honest, I’m sure that Perez Molins is not someone who is representative of us, but rather a representative of the whole of the Latin American region.”
Morals also told El Universo that he would support a candidate who “takes into account the differences in our countries, and in our culture.”
“We don’t have a culture that is like America’s culture,” he said.
“We have our own way of life, and that’s why it’s important for people to understand the difference between our countries.”
We can be different and have different ways of life.
“Morans’ comments come a day after President Trump tweeted his support for Perez Molinos bid for reelection.”
So great to hear the President of El Salvador congratulate @MariaNunoMornevilla on her bid for the Presidency!
